" /> Historic Restoration Under Way at 1200 William St. in Fredericksburg - Simply Home - Custom Home Builders in Virginia

Simply Home is very excited to embark on a historic restoration at 1200 William Street in downtown Fredericksburg.  This beautiful all brick federal style home, named historic Millstone, was built circa 1821 by William A. Knox.  The homesite, on the corner of College Avenue, is believed to have been carved from land owned by Fielding Lewis, the builder of Kenmore.

The home has many unique features including a beautiful semicircular stairwell, an exposed beam attic, original slate roof and multiple fireplaces.  There is also a two story guest house on the premises.  This opportunity is a rewarding challenge for an award-winning builder who is passionate about quality workmanship and delivering beautiful homes to wonderful families.

The intention is to maintain and restore the historical beauty and value of the home while transforming the interior to a modern living space with all the comforts and amenities of any modern home.  Modern living in a historic package.

Simply Home is truly delighted and honored for this opportunity to be able to work on this important piece of Fredericksburg’s history.  Stay tuned for updates and photos of the completed project in 2015.
